Spring will soon be here, so get ready
to break out your gardening skills and tools as the 4-H Mini Gardens get under
way. The theme for the 2012 gardens is “Pollination Station!” This two part
mini garden series will cover the basics of the mini garden process, determine
garden location, how to plant, promoting pollination, managing pests,
harvesting, and will include time to ask questions. Both sessions will be held
at the Extension Center in Dobson.
This “green” opportunity is open to
any youth between the ages 5 & 18. Participants will receive all garden
materials at the May 1 training.
Part One: “Garden Overview” will be
held on Tuesday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Part Two: “Pollination Station” will
be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:30p.m.
Registration
deadline is Tuesday, April 24 no participants will be allowed to participate
after this date.
Contest fee: $10.00 for each participant. Fee includes:
garden and workshop materials and entry to Summer Awards Night.
