4-H is For You! 4-H is a fun and educational program for children ages 5-18. The 4-H program is the youth component of the N.C. Cooperative Extension, that is dedicated to helping boys and girls develop life skills needed to be contributing members of their communities. Children of all racial, cultural, economic and social backgrounds are welcome to participate in 4-H educational programs. 4-H is open to all kids – you do not have to live on a farm to enjoy 4-H opportunities!

2012 4-H Summer Explosion!

This summer is going to be an exciting adventure for all youth ages 5-18. The Surry County 4-H has planned activities and classes for all ages. Join in on classes such as Stories and Cents, Zoo Snooze, Survival 101, Digging Deeper, Krafty Kids, Amazing Race, 4-H Investigates and many more! Participants should expect hands-on activities, crafts, exploring, and having a great time with others from across the county. Most classes meet from 8:30-2:30 p.m. unless noted. Registration will begin on Tuesday, May 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Extension Center in Dobson. Registration will continue until all classes are filled or one week prior to the class.
